I’m not working for Buhari in PDP, says Dokpesi

By Joshua Olalekan, Lagos

Former Chairman of Daar Communication and a contestant for the National Chairmanship of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP ), Chief Raymond Dokpesi has denied allegations that he is working for President Muhammadu Buhari inside the party.

In a statement by his media aide, Mr. Omor Bazuaye, Dokpesi said he is a full blooded member of PDP and has no business with the All Progressives Congress (APC).

According to the statement obtained by BLACKFACE on Monday, Dokpesi was reacting to question from Senator Makanjuola Ajadi when he took his campaign to PDP headquarters in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.

Though, he had in the past been accused of joining the race to serve as a mole for Buhari and the APC, a charge he has continued to deny saying there is not a single iota of truth in the theory.

“He said he can never work for Buhari and his APC, narrating his ordeal in the hands of the military dictator when he took over in a coup in 1983. He said he was arrested and detained unjustly for months when he served as Head Political in defunct Gongola State.

“During that era people were jailed for 200 year for 100 years for the rest of their lives .what is happening now, is it different from what happened then”, he asked.

Dokpesi said he tried to warn Nigerians before the elections but they didn’t listen; adding that now that everything he said is playing out before their eyes; he has no regret or apologies to render.

He asked his supporters to disregard such speculations or at best consider them as the “evil” machinations of persons too scared of his rising political rising profile and campaign.

About his case with EFCC, another question that has followed the trail, Dokpesi said he has built a solid case, confident that he would have his day in court.

“In Nigeria, are you guilty before a court or proper institution pronounces it?

He said the matter is in court and it would be subjudice for him to say anything; requesting that people should at least give him the fair benefit.

He however maintained that he was paid for services rendered.
