Bode George, Agbaje, Olajumoke, Dokpesi others jostle for PDP chair

By Olaolu Oladipo, Lagos

No fewer than seven prominent members of the opposition, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have shown their interest in the national chairmanship of the party.

As the time of filing these reports, a former Deputy National Chairman of the party (South), Chief Olabode George has shown his desire to lead the party if the delegates to the rescheduled national convention scheduled to hold in Port Harcourt next month elect him.

George has the governorship candidate of the party in the last election in Lagos State, Mr. Jimi Agbaje to contend with and the entry of the pharmacist turned politician is said to be ruffling some feathers not only in the state but nationally.

Also in the race is the former Chairman of Daar Communications, Chief Raymond Dokpesi; a former Deputy National Chairman, Mr. Uche Secondus; a former senator, Chief Bode Olajumoke who has a former Minister of Education, Professor Tunde Adeniran to contend with from the Ondo/Ekiti axis of the South West.

Completing the pack is the factional Deputy Chairman of the party in the Senator Ali Modu Sheriff led faction, Mr. Cairo Ojougboh.
