Ahead of primaries, Akoko APC elders screen aspirants

Elders in the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the four local government areas making up Akoko Division in Ondo State have conducted screening for governorship aspirants from the area ahead of November 26, gubernatorial poll. The exercise was held at the resident of the immediate past Deputy Governor of the state, Alhaji Ali Olanusi on Tuesday, it took place to present only one aspirant for the forthcoming primaries scheduled for August 27.

Elders at the meeting include Hon Denista Ijabiyi, Olorunfemi Christopher, Chief R A Ajayi, Chief L I E Ropitan, Hon Titi Babalola, and Prof Mrs Olusi.

Others were Hon RO Ogedengbe Prof Sola Ehindero Rasheed Badmus Evan Ojuolape Chief RA Garuba Alhaji Tolorunju and Prince Obaode.

They were said to have used some criteria in their screening such as the political structure of the aspirants in the APC, their popularity among the people, and their impact to the development of Akokoland.

In the said screening, it was learnt that Senator Ajayi Boroffice scored 74 percent and which was the highest rate.

Others aspirants, which include Victor Olabimtan, rated 69 percent, Hon. Daodu, 64, Tunji Abayomi, 57, Foluso Adefemi, 55, Segun Abraham 54, Moyosola Oladunni 37, Mr. Adeogun, 37, and Mr. Jamiu 36.
