By Tony Ehighiale, Benin City

Following the emergence of Godwin Obaseki as All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate from South Senatorial district and Hon. Philip Shaibu as his running mate from North, the tripod the leadership of the party is moving to appease the people of the of the Central Senatorial district to produce the Speaker of the state house of Assembly.

The former speaker, Hon. Victor Edoror  who hailed from central district was impeached on May 3rd, 2016 over an alleged financial mismanagement and high handedness.

After the APC Primaries on June 18th, and the eventual nomination of running mate, the party Leaders from Edo Central complained of marginalization and sensing the danger pose ahead of the September 10th Governorship Election, Governor Adams Oshiomhole met with the party Leaders and resolved to returned the Speaker of the house back to Edo Central Senatorial district.

With this, our Sources who is a current member of the house said the Speaker, Hon. Elizabeth Ativie will on Monday 25th step down as Speaker and that will come as motion.

Our Sources also said that, Hon. Elizabeth Ativie has been offered the Deputy Speakership, with other parting allowances.
