Militants attack, bomb crude oil pipeline in Warri

Suspected militants have bombed a major crude oil pipeline in Warri, Delta State on Sunday night.Though no one has claimed responsibility for the action, it is believed that the action may have been carried out by members of the Niger-Delta Avengers affected an asset which is operated by a subsidiary of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).

Reuters, an online cable news site quoted an unnamed community leader of informing it on Mondaythough without giving further details.

Two blasts were heard on the Pipelines and Product Marketing Company (PPMC) line late on Sundaynight, said Batan community chairman Ogugu Dickson.

A security source also said there had been blasts but the NNPC could not immediately be reached for comment.

It was however suspected to be done by the militant group, Niger Delta Avengers but, No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
