Immediate past Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees (BoT), Chief Tony Anenih, has urged the people of Edo Central Senatorial district (Esan) to vote out the All Progressive Congress in Edo State. Anenih who spoke at a PDP campaign rally on Sunday told his kinsmen to put a stop to an attempt by the state governor, Adams Oshiomhole, to obliterate them by voting for the party’s governorship candidate, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu.Â
Speaking at the rally in his native Uromi town in Esan North East Local Government, Anenih vowed that the Esan people would resist their continued domination by Oshiomhole in the election.Â
He said Oshiomhole further displayed his disdain for the Esan people by refusing to pay the counterpart funding of N300 million needed to complete the Ugbalo Waterworks after he had made the Federal government commit the sum of N1.2 billion to the project.Â
Anenih said his presence at the PDP zonal flag off was an indication of where the Esan people would follow in the September 10 election.Â
Anenih accused Oshiomhole of working to prevent the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from recognizing Pastor Ize-Iyamu as the PDP’s candidate saying the labour was in vain.Â
He insisted that the PDP was capable of defeating the All Progressive Congress.
