Ondo poll: APC governorship aspirants to pay N5m nomination fees

The national headquarters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has stated that aspirants wishing to be nominated to contest the governorship election in Ondo State would part with the sum of N5m. This forms the major highlight of the time table and schedule of activities for the conduct of the party’s 2016 governorship primary election in Ondo State released on Sunday. 

National Organising Secretary of the party, Senator Osita Izunaso made this known on Sunday in a statement, saying the announcement was in line with the provisions of the Electoral Act 2010 (as amended), the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) guidelines as well as the party’s guidelines. 

According to the time-table and schedule of activities, sale of forms will commence at the Party’s National Secretariat from Tuesday July 19 to Friday August 5. 

Governorship nomination forms will be sold at N5 million while intending aspirants are expected to pay N500, 000 to pick expression of interest form. The forms are free for female aspirants. 

The statement added that the last day for submission of completed forms isMonday August 8 at the APC National Secretariat,while screening of aspirants will be conducted in Abuja from Tuesday August 9 to Friday August 12. 

The Primary Election will hold Saturday August 27 and Election Appeal is scheduled for between Monday August 29 and Thursday September 1.
