Lagos Group condemns Dino Melaye over attack on Remi Tinubu, Declare him non-grata

The All Progressive Congress Volunteers (APC-V), has condemned in strong terms, the threat and diatribe of Senator Dino Melaye against another Senator and wife of the National Leader of the APC, Senator Remi Tinubu on the floor of the senate recently.

In a statement signed by the Chairman and Secretary of the group, Ajewole Anthony and Gbinigie Solomon respectively, the group noted that the latest in the series of Dino Melaye’s juvenile delinquencies and infantile rascality is bring not only himself and family to public opprobrium but also the Senate and the great party, the APC, on whose platform he was elected.

The Group maintained that Senator Dino Melaye’s unprovoked rant against a very Distinguished Senator, a role model for women, an astute and highly committed public official in the calibre of Senator Remi Tinubu should be condemned by all right thinking members of the society, especially the political class that should be worried of having a low life personality of Melaye’s classless class as its member.
The Group however expressed its disappointment that days after the unfortunate incident, the leadership of the Senate has maintained an embarrassing silent on the matter as if lending credence to the notion that Melaye’s nuisance enjoys the backing of the Senate leadership.
“We are not only shocked but also embarrassed that days after Melaye came out with one of his well known reckless rants, the senate leadership is yet to condemn or issue any statement in this regard, rather it has maintained a deafening silence as if truly, “the words coined by the supposed wise ones was expressly disseminated by the most foolish of the lots”, the statement added.
The group however advised Senator Melaye and the entire people of his constituency to issue a public apology within 7 days to Senator Remi Tinubu, the people of Lagos Central and Lagosians in general, failure of which, Dino Melaye will become a ‘persona non grata” to Lagos.
