Scores dump PDP for APC in Ondo, ahead of governorship poll

By Samuel Faleye, Akure

The Ondo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has received defectors from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). This is coming just as the State Chairman of the party, Mr. Isaac Kekemeke has described the APC as a people-oriented party formed to develop the land and the people as its activities and actions are focused on uplifting the masses.

He made the remark while receiving over 350 members of “like minds” group led by a chieftain of the PDP in the State, Comrade Ibironke Lawrence, into the party.

Kekemeke, who also noted that the people would not go hungry and our teeming youths will be gainfully employed and contribute to the growth and development of the country is paramount in the minds of the leadership of the party.

He also emphasised the developing of the infrastructure, stressing that this spade of developments could be noticed in other Southwest states like Ogun and Osun states who are not as rich as Ondo State but are doing pretty well in infrastructural development and social welfare schemes.

This according to him is especially in the area of feeding school children in their respective states.

In his speech, Ibironke saluted the courage of President Mohammadu Buhari for his fight against corruption, he said the President’s zero tolerance for corruption is the precursor to restoring our Nation’s lost glory.

According to him. Part of the reasons we left the PDP, Ibironke Lawrence said, “was that PDP is a party that enforces its members to amass wealth without working, enjoys pleasure without conscience and most regrettably practises politics without principle.

“All these factors had contributed to the precarious situation we find ourselves in the country now.”

He therefore calls on all patriotic Nigerians to support President Buhari in his fight against corruption to a zero level in the country.
