Governorship poll: ‘Ondo PDP has no anointed candidate’

The Ondo state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has debunked the rumour making the rounds suggesting that the party has adopted a particular aspirant as candidate for the November 26
governorship poll in the state.Rather, the Ondo State PDP maintained that the party is yet to conduct
its primary election to decide the party’S flag bearer.

A statement by its publicity Secretary, Banji Okunomo said the rumour
is a figment of imagination of those s[reading it and that it did not
emanate from the PDP secretariat.

There had been speculations particularly on social media that Governor
Olusegun Mimiko has openly adopted an Akure Indigene, who is the
Attorney-General and commissioner of Justice, Eyitayo Jegede (SAN) as
PDP flag bearer.

Other PDP aspirants in the race are Chief Sola Ebiseni, Senator Remi
Okurinboye, Gbenga Elegbeleye, Prince Nekan-Olateru Olagbegi,Bamiduro
Dada,Dare Emiola, Dayo Fadahunsi, Adedayo Omolafe, Dare Bada, Debo
Ajimuda and Benson Amuwa.
