S’ East NCP backs Buhari on anti-corruption war

The South East caucus of the National Conscience Party (NCP) has
commended President Muhammad Buhari’s anti-corruption war.According to the party, corruption has held the country down for many
years and responsible for its present economic woes.

The party however advised that the anti corruption war should be
holistic to ensure that every corrupt government official is brought
to book in order to avoid reducing the efforts to mere witch hunting.

Rising from its 7th Southeast zonal meeting at the Owerri Sports Club,
the party in a communique signed by its Deputy National Chairman,
Comrade Goodluck Obi, also urged President Buhari to adopt proactive
measures in tackling insurgency and other “traditional security
challenges” in all parts of the country.

The communique further charged the President to take urgent steps to
address the “high level  of poverty and hunger ravaging  the
citizenry” .

The party also condemned the recent killing of pro-Biafra protesters
in Anambra State, “the NCP as a political party condemns in its
entirety the extra-judicial killings of unarmed and defenseless
civilians especially at Nkpor in Anambara State and other parts of the
