A former Military Head of State, General Abdulsalam Abubakar hasÂ tasked the Federal Government to improve on the quality of teachingÂ and curriculum in schools across the country.While commending the Federal Government for doing their best inÂ education with the little resources available to them, he said thatÂ building schools will amount to nothing if the quality of teaching is
not improved upon.
Speaking during the 2016 graduation ceremony of El-Amin InternationalÂ Schools, Minna over the weekend, Abdullahi stated that for theÂ educational system in the country to improved, all hands need to be onÂ deck adding individuals need to invest more in education.
“By everyone putting hands on deck, the people will be helping theÂ government improve on education. Government alone cannot do it all,Â individuals should emulate what late Maryam Babangida have done inÂ setting up this school. To this end, they can help the government inÂ training the future generation.”
In a similar note, Senator Daisy Danjuma said that education is theÂ foundation of a good nation stressing on the need for government tomÂ place priority and more emphasis in education.
â€œEducation is the insurance that every nation should give theirÂ children. Good education will bring up leaders who know their rights.”
