Arase in trouble as pro-Biafra group begins manhunt for him

By Our Correspondent

The recently retired Inspector-General of the Nigerian Police, Mr. Solomon Arase has been declared a persona-non-granta by the members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) who have launched a man hunt for him.

IPOB in a statement has reportedly directed its members to search for Arase and arrest him wherever and whenever he is found.

The leadership of the group that hopes to arraign the former police boss at the International Criminal Court at The Hague has asked that its members should closely monitor his movements and whereabouts so that his arrest could be easily facilitated.

IPOB plans to arraign Arase at the International Criminal Court (ICC) as soon as an international bench warrant is issued for his arrest.

Arase’s sin might not be unconnected to the killing of over 1,000 Biafrans between July, 2015 and May 30, 2016.

A statement signed by spokesman to IPOB, Dr Clifford Iroegbu, directed that Arase’s whereabouts must be strictly monitored and information on this should be made available to the organisation’s headquarters in Victoria, Spain.
