We’re determined to qualify for 2017 AYC, says Flying Eagles’ goalkeeper trainer

Abuja, June 22, 2016 (NAN) Flying Eagles’ goalkeeper trainer Emeka Amadi says the team are determined to qualify for the 2017 African Youth Championship (AYC) billed to hold in Zambia.

Amadi told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Wednesday that to that end, the team would try to use their tactical discipline and technical know-how to win their qualifier for the championship against Sudan on July 8.

“We are doing everything possible to make sure that we qualify for the African Youth Championship (AYC) in Zambia. Our obstacle at the moment is Sudan and actually we don’t know them.

“But we are trying everything possible to get news about them so that we can use our own tactical discipline and technical know-how to outsmart them and see that we go through.’’

He added that the players were in high spirits and would do their best to qualify for Zambia.

“Our boys are really in high spirit, they know what we want and also they know our philosophy and they are working hard with the technical crew. Also, we are putting all heads together and all hands are on deck to make sure we realise our dream.’’

According to the coach, the return leg of the match between Nigeria and Sudan will be played on July 23rd in Nigeria.

“We will play the return leg in Nigeria on the 23.”
