Popular rapper, Olamide has finally begged organisers of the Headies award over his controversial outburst at the 2015 edition.

He conveyed his apologies to the management of Headies and HipTV in a new video which recently surfaced online.

Tension ran high as Olamide publicly voiced his disapproval when Reekado Banks was named as the Next Rated Act and ‘snubbing’ his then fast rising label act Lil Kesh.

Olamide created a public video with Hip TV CEO, Mr Ayo Animashaun in which he for his inappropriate conduct, claiming he should have apologised earlier, but had been on tour with his crew and this had kept him very busy.

“On behalf of YBNL, I’m here to say a big sorry to the Headies crew, Hip TV crew and Mr Ayo Animashaun himself, if not for anything he has always been supportive, from 2010 when Kaffy brought me to the office, so he’s more like my dad in the industry, so I had to find a way to come down here and apologize for everything that has happened,” he said.

Olamide had on January 1, 2016 caused a scene at the Headies award, calling out the organising committee after Lil’ Kesh failed to clinch the award for the Next Rated Artiste.

This led to and exchange between him and label boss Don Jazzy that turned really ugly and was finally allegedly settled by Nigerian business mogul and billionaire, Aliko Dangote.
