Ize-Iyamu picks PDP ticket for Edo governorship poll

A one-time Secretary to the Edo State Government, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu has been elected by delegates to pick the governorship ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the forthcoming governorship election in the state.

Chairman of the committee that organised the primaries and the Governor of Ebonyi State, Chief David Umahi, declared Pastor Ize-Iyamu, winner of the shadow poll conducted on Monday, June 20, in Benin, the Edo State Capital.

Umahi said Ize-Iyamu polled a total of 584 votes ahead of Mathew Uduoeyekemwen, his closest rival, who had 91 votes.
