National Chairman of All Progressives Congress, Chief John Odigie Oyegun has arrived in Benin, Edo State capital ahead of Saturday’s governorship primary election. Also, the Chairman of the primary election committee and Katsina State Governor, Alhaji Bello Masari has also arrived for the event scheduled to hold inside the main bowl of Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium.

Chairman of the state’s chapter of the Coalition of Registered Political Parties CRPP, Dr Samson Isibor, Edo chairman, coalition of Registered Political Party (CRPP) has appealed to the leadership of
the APC to deploy security personnel outside Edo to ensure a hitch free outing on Saturday.

Isibor made this call in Benin on Thursday, adding that the call became necessary against the wide spread allegation that security personnel in the state may have been compromised to secure victory for
a particular aspirant.

“In the case of the APC governorship primaries in Edo, we are calling for the same thing because; we have gotten wind of plan by some persons to scuttle the process if their candidate is not having his
way in the primaries.

“Again, this is another of their strategy after their plan of  preventing some delegates, through mopping of Permanent Voters Card (PVC), have been scuttled.

“Deployment of security of personnel outside the state will ensure  neutrality and fairness from the angle of security,” he stated.

On the issue of postmen, Isibor said, “We also have it on good authority of the plan to create problems that will see to the postponement of the primaries. We are calling on the leadership of the not to fall for this antics.”
