I have no anointed candidate for Ondo governorship, says Tinubu

By Olaolu Oladipo, Lagos

National Leader of All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu  has denied that he has anointed a candidate for the forthcoming governorship poll in Ondo State.

Speaking through his media aide, Mr. Sunday Dare, Tinubu debunked  some comments credited to his wife, Senator Oluremi Tinubu suggesting that he (Tinubu) has endorsed a candidate for the poll.

Dare on behalf of his principal wrote, “These types of comments are one of the evil tactics of the oppositions within and without APC to brew unnecessary discord for the Party to lose focus of occupying the Government House, Alagbaka come 2017.”

He stressed further that “Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and or other National Leaders are seriously committed to the true tenet of Democracy which is free and fair Primaries at all levels.

“That the people behind such claims are either lazy or politically imbecile who are waiting for undue political baptism for them to have a free ride to the Government House.

He averred that Ondo State is spectacular state that the National Leaders of the party are not ready to use as a control experiment at all. That level plain ground shall be made available to all bona fide contestants.a
