Operatives attached to the Nigeria Police Force in Aba, Abia State have foiled an attempt to kidnap a car dealer as the gunmen.

An eye witness account states that the gunmen in an attempt to escape being nabbed by the security agency attacked one of the police patrol vans, killing a police officer on the spot.

The other officer who initially sustained severe gunshots died about one hour later in an undisclosed hospital where he was taken to for medical attention.

The eye witness added that the hoodlums suspecting that they have been rounded up by the police and other security agents on possible escape route, abandoned both their victim and his Lexus 300 Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) between Ovom and Ukaegbu road, an outskirt of the commercial city.
