CCT adjourns Saraki’s graft case ‘indefinitely’

The Code of Conduct Tribunal sitting in Abuja, the nation’s capital has adjourned the trial of Senate President, Bukola Saraki, indefinitely.

At the resumed hearing of Saraki’s assets declaration falsification on Wednesday, the star witness for the prosecution, Mr. Michael Wetkas failed to show up at the court.

The tribunal chairman, Mr. Danladi Umar announced the decision that proceedings be halted indefinitely with the absence of Wetkas on Wednesday.

The case had initially been adjourned on May 25 till Wednesday, for the cross-examination of Wetkas, to continue.

In announcing the decision Umar, said the adjournment was to give the court time to hear other cases.
