By Tony Ehighiale, Benin

Aggrieved members of the Peoples Democratic Party in Egor Local Government Area of Edo State have threatened to quit the party if the leaders refused to replace Dr. Oni Edigin as the Edo South Vice Chairman of the party.

The members who protested against the appointment of Dr. Edigin said the action was an affront to a large number of young men within the party.

Leader of the protesters, Comrade Promise Igbinevbo who led the protesters warned the party leadership to stop recycling people within the party.

Comrade Igbinevbo said there were young members of the party that should be injected into the party’s leadership and described Edigin’s appointment as a coup against PDP members in Egor.

Igbinevbo vowed that they would resist the appointment and if they failed, they would quit the PDP.
