Sokoto State Governor, Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has signed the state’s 2016 budget of about N174.39 billion into law.

 

Speaking at the brief event in Government House, Sokoto, Tambuwal said his administration will do its maximum best to implement the document to the letter.

 

According to him, “We will initiate more people-oriented policies, projects and programmes in this direction.

 

“Whatever is due to the government as internally-generated revenues should be collected and judiciously utilised. Any attempt to tinker with the revenues would not be tolerated and whoever is found wanting in this direction will be duly sanctioned,” Tambuwal, warned.

 

He however, commended the state House of Assembly for the speedy passage of the budget, describing the legislature as a reliable partner in progress in the ongoing efforts to further evenly develop the state.

 

Similarly, the Speaker, Alhaji Salihu Maidaji promised to continue to cooperate with the executive arm of government to take the state to greater heights.
