Oyo set to appoint caretakers for councils soon

Oyo State Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi will soon roll out the list containing names of caretaker chairmen for the 33 local governments in the state.

The governor dropped the hint while addressing a crowd of supporters who stormed the state secretariat to congratulate him on his recent victory at the Supreme Court.

Addressing them, he attributed the series of success to his firm confidence in God and pure heart towards all.

“We will announce the names of caretaker chairmen for the local government in a short while. We will surprise everyone and we will make sure that the councils reach out to everyone at the grassroots.”

Acknowledging God and the teeming support of people of the state for the victory at the April pools and the subsequent election petition tribunal through to the supreme court, the elated governor alleged reasoned that the Supreme Court ruling has saved him from former Governor Ladoja, who would have taken him and other elders for granted, if he had heeded their plea not to contest the election victory at the tribunal up to the Supreme Court

He pleaded with his supporters and party members across the state not to abuse the oppositions or insult anyone on account of the victory but to take recourse in God’s vindication. Members of the party from across the state, state party leadership attended the event

It would be recalled that all through the first four year term of the Governor Ajimobi, no council poll held in the state owing to pending judicial matters relating to the constitution of the state independent electoral commission (OYSIEC).
