Kwara State House of Assembly has suspended all legislative activities for a week in honour of a deceased member, Moses Afolayan.

Until his death last week, the late lawmaker was representing Oke-Ero State Constituency in the Assembly.

The house will reconvene on Tuesday next.

The deceased who was elected on the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC) died in the early hours of Saturday in his house along NNPC pipeline road Ilorin, at the age of 59.

Speaker Dr. Ali Ahmad said this in Ilorin while presiding over Tuesday’s sitting of the Assembly.

Ahmad explained that the House would reconvene on Tuesday next week with valedictory session for the departed lawmaker at the floor of the house.

He urged family members, friends and associates of the deceased to attend the valedictory session.

The House later observed a minute silence in honour of the soul of the deceased law maker.

The Speaker and other members of the House later received Governor Abdulfatahi Ahmed on a condolence visit to the family of the deceased at his residence in Ilorin.
